The downside of my garden is that it's thin, very thin. In fact it's only 12ft wide, on the plus side it is 160ft+ long!
If, like me, you have a thin garden the last thing you want is a thick row of trees that takes up 1/4 of the gardens total width!
As I wanted a shed that was 8ft wide it meant the base needed to be 10ft. If you've done the maths you'll have realised that with the trees in place this wasn't going to work...
The only course of action was to take the trees out!
This task was going to be easier said than done, the conifers are tall and thick (from counting the rings they'd been there at least 15 years).
To make space for the shed we'd have to take down 9 trees, trust me taking down that many trees with a hand saw and loppers is no easy task! (What I would give for a chainsaw!!)
Once the trees had been stripped there was then the joyous task of dumping all the remains.
To carry all the branches and trunks from the bottom of my garden to the skip that now sat of my drive was a bit of a workout!
Now with the trees gone all that is left to do is have a bit of a final tidy up and we're in a position where we can order the shed!
